There are times when it's necessary to anonymize reports about candidates to preserve confidential information. AvePDF offers a free online tool for editing PDF documents that provides a simple solution to this problem. Here is a step-by-step guide:
2. Upload your PDF
You can choose a file from your computer, drag-and-drop the file directly into the box, or upload from cloud storage, such as Google Drive. AvePDF removes your uploaded documents after 30 minutes to protect your privacy.
3. Click on the "Add redaction marks" button
4. Highlight all areas in your PDF that you want to be anonymized
Click and drag to create the marking. All these markings will become black boxes, and the information beneath the box is completely erased from the document. You can choose whether to mark single words or entire pages.
5. Once you have finished marking, click on "Apply all redactions"
6. Click on "yes" in the popup box
You cannot undo this after clicking “yes”, so double-check that your markings are correct. However, you can add more markings even after clicking “yes”.
